Pro Slate Privacy Policy

Origin 51 LLC (“Origin 51,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Pro Slate mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Summary

Pro Slate is designed to work primarily on your device. In the current version:

• We do not require an account.
• We do not operate advertising in the App.
• We do not use the App to track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• We do not automatically upload your slate information, take logs, production details, or exported reports to Origin 51.
• We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services in the current version.

Information you enter is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App may store information that you enter or generate, including:

• Production names and production-unit information
• Names of directors, cinematographers, sound personnel, cast, or crew
• Scene, take, roll, camera, lens, sound, and technical metadata
• Timecode settings and logged timecode values
• Shot notes, production notes, and take-status information
• App preferences, accessibility settings, and visible-field selections
• PDF, CSV, text, or other reports that you choose to generate

This information may include personal information if you enter names, contact information, or other identifying details into a field. Origin 51 does not receive this information from the App under the current design.

3. Exports and Sharing

The App allows you to generate and share reports, including PDF and CSV files. Exporting or sharing is initiated by you.

When you share a report through Apple’s share sheet, Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, cloud storage, or another application, the receiving service may process the report under its own privacy policy. Origin 51 does not control what happens to information after you share or export it.

You are responsible for confirming that you have permission to include cast, crew, client, production, or other third-party information in an exported report.

4. Device Features

The App may use device features to perform requested functions, including:

• Audio playback for the digital clap sound
• Haptic feedback
• Screen-awake behavior
• Local file creation and sharing
• Accessibility features provided by iOS

The current version does not require access to your microphone, camera, contacts, precise location, health data, or advertising identifier.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Slate information and take logs remain on your device until you delete them, reset the App’s data, or uninstall the App.

Files that you export may remain in Files, iCloud, email, messages, backups, or third-party services after App data is deleted. You must delete those copies separately.

Because Origin 51 does not receive or maintain your locally stored production data in the current version, we generally cannot retrieve, modify, or delete that data for you.

6. Security

The App relies on protections provided by iOS and your device. You should protect your device with a passcode and use care when exporting confidential production information.

No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for deciding whether the App and your selected sharing method are appropriate for confidential, proprietary, union, client, or unreleased production information.

7. Children’s Privacy

Pro Slate is a professional production utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

8. Third-Party Services and Apple

Your download and use of the App may involve Apple services, including the App Store, iCloud, Files, AirDrop, or the iOS share sheet. Apple and any third-party service you choose may collect or process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Future Features

If a future version adds accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, network-connected timecode services, Bluetooth device services that transmit information, or other data collection, we will update this Privacy Policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures before or when those practices begin.

10. Your Privacy Choices

You can control your information by:

• Editing or deleting slate fields
• Deleting individual take-log entries
• Resetting locally stored App data
• Deleting exported files from the services where you saved them
• Uninstalling the App

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. The updated policy will include a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or through the App Store listing when appropriate.

Pro Slate Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Pro Slate mobile application (the “App”), provided by Origin 51 LLC (“Origin 51,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Free App

The App is currently provided without charge. Origin 51 may modify, suspend, discontinue, or introduce optional paid features in a future version. Any future purchase will be presented separately and will not occur without your authorization.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store terms, Origin 51 grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control for lawful personal, educational, commercial, and professional film-production purposes.

The App is licensed, not sold. Origin 51 retains all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

3. Permitted Production Use

You may use the App on film, television, commercial, documentary, music-video, student, live-event, social-media, and other lawful productions.

You may use, copy, distribute, and archive reports and production records that you create with the App. You retain ownership of the production data and original content you enter.

4. Optional Credit

Credit is appreciated but is not required as a condition of using the App.

When practical, an optional credit may read:

“Pro Slate app by Origin 51 LLC — created by Scott Welsch.”

A shorter optional credit may read:

“Pro Slate — Origin 51 LLC / Scott Welsch.”

Failure to provide credit does not terminate your license, restrict your use of the App, or create a payment obligation.

5. Your Information and Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Information entered into the App
• Confirming the accuracy of scene, take, roll, timecode, camera, sound, and production information
• Maintaining appropriate backups
• Confirming that you have permission to record and share names or other third-party information
• Protecting confidential, proprietary, unreleased, or client information
• Reviewing reports before relying on or distributing them

The App is a production aid and should not be your only record of critical production information.

6. Timecode and Technical Accuracy

The App attempts to display and log timecode and related technical information accurately. Device scheduling, operating-system behavior, selected frame rates, battery state, interruptions, configuration errors, and hardware limitations may affect results.

Unless expressly identified as connected and synchronized with supported external hardware, the App should not be treated as a certified master clock, guaranteed synchronization source, or substitute for testing professional timecode equipment.

You are responsible for verifying synchronization, frame rate, metadata, and report accuracy before and during production.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive activity
• Circumvent security or access restrictions
• Introduce malware or interfere with the App or related services
• Misrepresent that Origin 51 endorses a production, product, or service
• Copy, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the App itself except as permitted by applicable law or written permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it

These restrictions do not limit rights that cannot legally be restricted.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its software, visual design, branding, documentation, and original materials are owned by Origin 51 LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

“Pro Slate,” “Origin 51,” related logos, and associated branding may not be used in a way that suggests sponsorship or endorsement without permission. The optional production credit described above is permitted.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with Apple or third-party services selected by you, including Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, cloud storage, printers, or PDF viewers. Origin 51 is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their handling of exported information.

For App Store downloads, Apple’s applicable App Store terms and standard end-user license agreement also apply. If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple terms, the mandatory Apple terms control to the extent of the conflict.

10. Updates and Availability

We may release updates, modify features, change compatibility, or discontinue the App. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, remain compatible with every device or operating-system version, or support every production workflow.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ORIGIN 51 LLC, SCOTT WELSCH, AND THEIR MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST FOOTAGE, LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, PRODUCTION DELAYS, MISSED SYNCHRONIZATION, REPORTING ERRORS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US $10).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Origin 51 LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the App, your production content, or your violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.

14. Termination

These Terms remain effective until terminated. You may terminate them by deleting the App. Origin 51 may terminate or restrict your license if you materially violate these Terms.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute provisions—will survive.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE OF FORMATION OR CHOSEN STATE], excluding its conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute that is not subject to a mandatory App Store dispute process will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY AND STATE], unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App changes. The revised version will show a new effective date. Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
